Yoga for Arthritis [WORKSHOP] with Tracy Roberge
- This event has passed.
April 11 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This workshop will show you how yoga can ease your symptoms associated with stiffness in the joints, joint injuries, inflammation and/or achiness in the body, those with joint replacements (knee, hip, elbow, etc.), and those with a formal diagnosis of Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis.
It combines elements of restorative and gentle yoga, emphasizing what you can do, knowing your limits, and learning the right way to move your major joints.
We’ll also discuss the role of inflammation and stress, exploring poses to stretch, strengthen, and stabilize joints with as little discomfort as possible. If you are not comfortable moving to the floor, chairs will be used for your comfort as an option to follow with ease for where you are at. You will also learn home skills that can help with pain, balance, and deep relaxation.
A full yoga program is included for your home practice.
Suitable for all levels, including anyone who suffers from limited mobility, range of motion, stiffness in the joints, joint injuries, inflammation and/or achiness in the body, those with joint replacements (knee, hip, elbow, etc.), and with Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis.
Tracy has studied with Rheumatologist Dr. Steven Edworthy, specializes in Yoga for Arthritis, and is Relax & Renew Certified (Judith Hanson Lasater). She is also CPR and AED certified.
